Notice body

The Pediatric Movement and Physical Activity Lab hosts a monthly parent outreach and education seminar for parents of children with developmental disabilities. These programs are part of collaborations with Lee County Autism Resource and Advocacy and Lee County Special Olympics.

The aim of these seminars is to link parents with local resources and information provided by experts in movement science, education, developmental psychology and medicine. This is a great opportunity for volunteers interested in physical therapy, occupational therapy, adapted physical education or special education to gain experience working with children with disabilities. Age- and ability-appropriate activities for children and teens are also available.

The next seminar is Oct. 22, from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. in the School of Kinesiology at Auburn University. Families, researchers, clinicians or volunteers wishing to participate should contact the Pediatric Movement and Physical Activity Lab at aupedmov@gmail.com.
