Raj Amin and Vishnu Suppiramaniam, both from the Harrison School of Pharmacy, or HSOP, Department of Drug Discovery and Development, recently received a $361,000 grant from the National Institutes of Health for their project entitled, “Novel PPAR-gamma agonist selectively activate the ligand binding domain of PPAR-gamma and improve pathology and memory deficits in a 3xTg-Ad mouse model.” The research was conducted entirely within HSOP with additional work by Rusty Arnold. The study looks for ways to improve memory deficits and synaptic plasticity in Alzheimer’s patients.
