Rosephanye Powell, professor of voice in the Department of Music in the College of Liberal Arts, has been selected as a Charles W. Barkley Endowed Professor. In this role, Powell serves as a diversity faculty mentor in the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs. The Charles W. Barkley Endowed Professorships are funded by former NBA professional and Auburn basketball star Charles Barkley to support underrepresented minority professors at Auburn with superior credentials in teaching, research and service in their disciplines, and a demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity. The professorships create vital resources to recruit and retain exceptional faculty members through salary enhancements, research support and professional development.
