James Goldstein, professor of English and chair-elect of the University Senate, lectured at an international workshop hosted by Freie Universität in Berlin on Sept. 3 and 4. His presentation explored relations between rhetoric and cognitive neuroscience in Middle Scots poetry. The interdisciplinary conference brought together some of the world’s leading scholars of older Scottish literature, history and archaeology to discuss knowledge and temporality in Medieval and Renaissance Scotland.
