The 20-minute institutional test of spoken English is for incoming international students who either did not take the iBT TOEFL and do not have a speaking section score or for students who have already been in the United States for some time since taking their TOEFL test who wish to meet the Graduate School's language requirement to be a graduate teaching assistant. The requirements for a GTA position are a 50 on SPEAK or 23 on the iBT Speaking section.
