The Auburn Transition Leadership Institute, in collaboration with Miss Auburn, the Student Government Association and the Veterans Resource Center, is hosting an event to increase awareness on mental health. Everyone is invited to attend this event, featuring Linea Johnson, a national speaker and disability advocate, author and college student. Johnson will discuss her personal journey with mental illness, presenting "Finding Voice, Finding Community: A Journey from Advocacy to Recovery."

“Self-determination and advocacy skills are paramount to recovery. Finding one’s 'voice' is critical,” Johnson said.

Learn how striving for human rights, social justice and individual voice can be crucial components to wellness, resiliency and recovery. This event will be held Wednesday, June 24, at 11 a.m. at The Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center in the Governor’s Room. Attendees will enjoy light hors d’oeuvres, beverages and an enlightening awareness of mental health issues. Parking at the hotel is free, no decal required.
