Andy Burcham, who has been working in radio since he was 18, will give listeners an inside look at his experiences in that medium and some insights into radio in the Auburn/Opelika area at a Brown Bag Lunch & Learn program sponsored by the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Auburn University, OLLI at Auburn.

The program will be July 7 at 11:30 a.m. at the Clarion Inn & Suites, 1577 S. College St. in Auburn. There is no charge for the program, and OLLI membership is not required for attendance. OLLI at Auburn offers academic, not for credit programs for adults, aged 50 years or older. OLLI at Auburn is a program of the Office of the Vice President for University Outreach at Auburn University.

Burcham manages day-to-day operations of WANI-AM and is the host of the ABBY Award winning Auburn/Opelika This Morning program. The radio station was named the Alabama Broadcasters Association Radio Station of the Year in 2009. He is a member of the Auburn IMG Sports broadcast team in addition to his duties with the Auburn network. He serves as lead announcer for women’s basketball, anchors the football pre- and post-game locker room broadcasts, works with Rod Bramblett on Auburn baseball broadcasts and is the play-by-play announcer for Auburn’s SEC Network+ broadcasts for soccer and baseball. A native of Nashville, Illinois and graduate of Indiana State University, Burcham has served in both news and sports roles throughout his career. He has won ABBY awards for best talk show, sportscaster of the year, best newscast and best election night coverage.
