The Auburn University School of Kinesiology and the City of Auburn Parks and Recreation department will present a youth sports seminar for parents and coaches called, “Play to Play.” Attendees will understand how to properly bring children up through sports to succeed mentally, emotionally and physically with fewer injuries and less burnout. This seminar will focus on children ages 4 to 8, but anyone may attend.

The seminar will take place on Thursday, July 16, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Frank Brown Recreation Center. It is free and opened to the public. Child care services for children 4 to 10 will be provided in the gymnasium.

The program will be presented by Reita Clanton, Liz Underwood and Mary Rudisill. Clanton is the coordinator of Performance & Health Optimization at the School of Kinesiology, a USA Team Handball Olympian and former three-sport athlete at Auburn University. Underwood is the head volleyball coach at Lee Scott Academy and former Auburn University Women’s Volleyball Coach. Rudisill is the director of the School of Kinesiology and a premier researcher in motor development and pediatric movement.
