Notice body

In the wake of the tragic deaths in a Charleston church June 17, the Confederate flag, in addition to being the topic of much discussion, has been removed from the statehouse in Alabama and from locations in other states. Artist Leo Twiggs, an African American from St. Stephen, South Carolina, has been appropriating and using the image of the Confederate flag in his batik paintings. On Wednesday, July 1 at noon, A Little Art Talk will focus on Twiggs’ painting "Last Flag #4." For more information and Twiggs comments about how his experience as a southerner informs his use of the flag imagery, go to this website.
