National Bike to Work Day will be held May 15. Whether you are environmentally conscious or just love the exercise, biking to work is a great way to avoid the commuter traffic and stay in shape. This event promotes a healthy lifestyle and encourages an alternate means of transportation to and from work.

The City of Auburn and the Auburn University Healthy Tigers Wellness Initiative invite all employees who bike to work on this day to bike in, meet in front of Samford Hall near the sidewalk by the Auburn University sign from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Anyone interested in learning more about biking in the community is encouraged to come to this event. There will be bikes available to test ride.

Representatives from the City of Auburn, Auburn-Opelika Biking Community, East Alabama Cycling Club, local bike shops and Auburn campus representatives involved with biking on campus and in the community will all be on hand to give brief updates on biking in the community. Anyone interested in biking is invited to come to this event. Prizes will be given to those in attendance and refreshments will be available. This event will be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. For additional information, contact Tammy Hollis at hollite@auburn.edu.
