The Market at Ag Heritage Park, Auburn University’s open-air farmers market, will open its 2015 season Thursday, May 14, at 3 p.m. and will continue every Thursday, from 3 to 6 p.m., through Aug. 27. The market is located near the intersection of South Donahue and Lem Morrison drives.

The Market at Ag Heritage Park offers locally grown fruits and vegetables as well as other locally produced items, such as honey, goat cheese, eggs, plants and baked goods. In addition, the market often includes educational displays. Once in full swing later in the season, it will feature 20 to 30 vendors each week.

Laura Herring, market manager, says the Market at Ag Heritage Park offers an opportunity to support local farmers while preserving a connection to the university’s agricultural heritage.

“Since we opened in 2005, we’ve been providing the Auburn community access not only to fresh, healthy, locally grown products but also to the people who produce them,” Herring said. “A trip to the market is a positive, uplifting experience for our customers and our vendors and has become a favorite summertime activity in the area.”

The Market at Ag Heritage Park is hosted by the Auburn University College of Agriculture and is open to the public. For more information, go to this website or contact Herring at (334) 321-1603 or herrilm@auburn.edu.
