The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Auburn University, or OLLI at Auburn, will host a Brown Bag Lunch and Learn on Wednesday, May 6, at noon in Ballroom CD of the Clarion Inn, located at 1577 South College St., Auburn. The public is invited to this free event. Paul Harris, Auburn University professor of political science, and William Baker, Kennesaw University assistant professor of public administration, will speak about “VE Day.”

May 8 is the 70th anniversary of Victory in Europe, a day when allies celebrated Nazi Germany’s unconditional surrender, marking the end of World War II in Europe. Harris and Baker will discuss their research, which examines the U.S. Army occupation of Germany and its leadership under the command of Gen. Lucius D. Clay, former Alabama Polytechnic Institute professor of military science.

Attendees at the Brown Bag Lunch may bring a lunch and drink to enjoy during the presentation.
