The first guided tour of the Auburn University Medicinal Plant Collection for 2015 will be Thursday, April 23, at 5 p.m. at the garden, located across from the Plant Science Research Center on Woodfield Drive. Garden curator Tia Gonzalez will lead participants through the 4,200-square-foot planting, sharing in-depth insight on the collection’s 60-plus species and varieties of plants—which range from hibiscus to turmeric—and their many curative and culinary uses. The tour is open to the public and is free, though donations toward garden upkeep will be accepted. Learn more about the Auburn Medicinal Plant Collection on Facebook.
