Feb. 17 marks the launch of Auburn University’s annual Faculty Staff Campaign. On this date, employees across campus will receive their 2015 campaign packet, through which they can make a one-time, recurring or future gift by check or bank draft, credit card or payroll deduction.

Each year since the campaign’s inception in 2006, more than 2,400 faculty and staff donors have collectively donated more than $2.6 million dollars to benefit Auburn. Last year’s campaign raised more than $300,000. Will Holley, manager of the Auburn Fund in the Office of Development, believes the reason for our campaign’s success lies with Auburn’s volunteer leadership and our unique concept of family.

“Auburn actually has one of the highest levels of employee participation in the Southeastern Conference,” Holley said. “I’ve had other schools call and ask how we achieve such wide-reaching support from our colleagues. It’s a real badge of honor and sends a powerful message to our alumni that we who work for Auburn believe enough in its mission to give so generously.”

Chad Vail, who has contributed to the campaign annually since 2011 when he was hired by Auburn, now serves as one of several campaign team captains in the Office of Information Technology. He echoed Holley’s view of campus unity through the campaign.

“My father, my grandfather, and I all attended Auburn University. As far as I know, my children will eventually enroll at Auburn as well,” Vail said. “Auburn University has been a big part of my family’s heritage. Now that I am on staff at Auburn, the Faculty Staff Campaign gives me an opportunity to show my support in a tangible way. When I give to Auburn, it encourages other potential donors to give as well. Auburn’s fundraising success provides crucial resources to continue the excellence here that we all expect and appreciate, and it's great to know that my participation plays a part in this.”
