Martin O'Neill, head of the Department of Nutrition, Dietetics and Hospitality Management in the College of Human Sciences, was awarded an honorary doctorate by the North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers during its biannual show Feb. 19 through 21, in Anaheim, California. NAFEM, a trade association of more than 500 foodservice equipment and supply manufacturers, bestows its Doctorate of Foodservice annually on persons for their commitment to the foodservice industry. O’Neill and 31 others in the profession received honorary degrees this year. A native of Northern Ireland, O’Neill earned three degrees from the University of Ulster in the U.K. He has been at Auburn since December 2003.
