Notice body

Beginning Feb. 1, there will be a new RAT50 form, "Request for Authority to Travel Outside the 50 United States." The new form collects essential information and emphasizes what is needed for the medical, security and emergency safety for travelers. The form is accessible in both AU Access and Self Service Banner and provides the routing for the required approvals and also for optional reviewers, such as administrative assistants or support personnel. Several categories required on the previous form are now "optional," and travelers should treat them as such. For example, only the FOAP (account number) for payment of the Traveler's Insurance is required, but some departments and units may want a record of the funding sources for travel. The line "Optional Funding Sources" below the Travel Insurance space proves a live link. Similarly, travelers who will be accompanied by dependents will click on the "Dependent" tab at the top of the form and enter the required information, while those with no dependents accompanying them may skip this step. Hands-on training sessions for faculty and departmental staff will be held on Jan. 14 and 16. They are recommended for departmental and unit support personnel, but all, including faculty, are welcome.
