The first Auburn Ruby User Group meeting will take place on Thursday, Jan. 29, at 3 p.m. in room 103B in the OIT building. The user group will feature speaker Jess Brown, an entrepreneur who has been building websites for nearly 15 years. In 2010, Brown started learning Ruby on Rails and has been developing almost exclusively in rails since then.

Ruby on Rails is a web application framework designed to build database-backed web applications. It is especially desirable for developers and companies who want to quickly build web applications that can scale and evolve over time. In addition to learning more about this application, there will also be some live coding and demos.
