The Auburn University wheelchair basketball team will host a double-header against the University of Alabama on Saturday, Jan. 24. Auburn’s co-ed team will face the Alabama women’s team at 1 p.m., and then the Alabama men’s team at 3 p.m. The competition will be held in the Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum.

The free, public event will be the first time the University of Alabama’s wheelchair basketball teams have visited Auburn University.

“We are excited to bring a new dimension of our in state rivalry to campus,” said Jared Rehm, adapted sports specialist at Auburn University. “They have a strong program that has been around for a number of years. They have set the bar for where we want to be.”

The Auburn University wheelchair basketball team, part of the Adapted Sports Program, is a collaboration of the Auburn University Office of Accessibility and the School of Kinesiology in the College of Education.
