The Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art will screen the documentary film, "Tim's Vermeer," on Thursday, Dec. 4, at 5 p.m. In "Tim's Vermeer," Tim Jenison, a Texas based inventor, attempts to solve one of the greatest mysteries in all art: How did 17th century Dutch Master Johannes Vermeer manage to paint so photo-realistically—150 years before the invention of photography? The epic research project Jenison embarks on to test his theory is as extraordinary as what he discovers. The documentary film, from comedic duo Penn & Teller, is programmed in conjunction with "Rembrandt, Rubens, Gainsborough, and the Golden Age of Painting in Europe." Free tickets are available on the programs page of the museum's website.
