Notice body

Auburn University Mammogram Day is Wednesday, Dec. 10, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The program is available for employees and spouses covered under the Auburn University Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) insurance program. Participants must be 35 years of age or older and have never had a mammogram, or 35 years of age or older and have not had a mammogram in the last year. The mammogram is not recommended for those who have implants. Spots are available by appointment on a first-come first-served basis. We encourage all those who have already scheduled their yearly mammogram to keep their appointment and allow these spaces to be used by those who are overdue. Time off will be allowed for the initial exam and, if needed, the first round of additional testing. If further testing is recommended, the employee will be required to use their sick leave.

When making the appointment, have the following information available: Blue Cross Blue Shield number, date of birth, date of last mammogram, phone number and the policy holder’s name. If the mammogram detects a possible problem and additional tests are required, employees will be required to pay the co-pay and deductibles related to the additional testing. Registration for appointments will begin Monday, Nov. 17. To make an appointment, call Colleen Alsobrook, EAMC Breast Health Navigator, at (334) 528-4370 and mention you are participating in the Auburn University Mammogram Day program. Mammograms will be done at Auburn Diagnostic, 1527 Professional Parkway. For more information, contact Jenny Swaim at (334) 844-6404 or swaimje@auburn.edu.
