Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art is hosting two free screenings of "Tim's Vermeer" on Thursday, Nov. 16 and Thursday, Dec. 4 at 5 p.m. The documentary film "Tim's Vermeer," from the comedic team Penn and Teller, follows inventor Tim Jenison, as he seeks to understand the painting techniques used by Dutch Master Johannes Vermeer. The film is programmed in conjunction with a touring exhibition of European paintings from 1600-1800 organized by the Speed Art Museum in Louisville, Kentucky. Auditorium seating is limited, so registering for advance tickets on the museum's website is encouraged. Every Thursday the museum stays open until 8 p.m. There will be live jazz and tapas service following the program.
