Jeff Vancouver, professor of psychology at Ohio University, will present “And You Call Yourself a Science: Lessons Learned from the Self-Efficacy Debacle” on Oct. 9, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in Cary Hall in room 158. The talk, sponsored by the Department of Psychology in the College of Liberal Arts, is free and open to the public. In his talk, Vancouver describes advances in research and theory that reorient self-efficacy’s meaning and roles, and speculates on the source of self-efficacy’s popularity and the lessons psychology should learn from this self-efficacy debacle.
