Election season is upon us, so here’s a reminder on state and federal rules that prohibit political activities by colleges and universities. In summary, Auburn employees may not use university facilities, resources and technology for political purposes or conduct any partisan political advocacy while on university property. According to university policy, the Alabama Ethics Act and the Internal Revenue Service, Auburn mailing lists, office space, telephones, copiers, computers, email, letterhead and websites are among the university assets that may not be used on behalf of a political candidate.
