Notice body

The Department of Risk Management and Safety is reminding everyone that Oct. 5-11 is National Fire Prevention Week sponsored by the National Fire Protection Association. This year’s theme is “Working Smoke Alarms Save Lives.” According to the National Fire Prevention Association 65 percent of all home fire deaths happen in homes that either have no smoke alarms or the smoke alarms present are not working. Working smoke alarms give an early warning to get out in the case of a fire. To learn more about Fire Prevention Week and smoke alarm safety, visit this website.
