The Fall 2014 Africana Studies Affiliate Lecture Series presents, “The Voting Rights Act: Race, Law and the Future of Our Elections," on Thursday, Oct. 23, from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. in the Special Collections Ground Floor Auditorium of the RBD Library. Mitchell Brown and Kathleen Hale, both from the Department of Political Science in the College of Liberal Arts, will discuss the changing national landscape in elections administration as it pertains to race and ethnicity, including voter ID, language assistance for non-native English speakers, and other access issues. The lecture is free and open to the public and is co-sponsored by the RBD Library and Archives. There will be a reception and conversation following the presentation.
