With little new growth in revenue projected for the coming year, the Auburn University Board of Trustees approved fiscal 2015 operating budget on Sept. 5, effective Oct. 1.

The $1.1 billion budget includes projected revenue growth of approximately $25 million in new and redistributed income. The budget contains funds for faculty and staff pay raises averaging 2 percent on Oct. 1 and a one-time salary supplement, also averaging 2 percent, in December.

Executive Vice President Don Large said the final budget submission adhered to guidelines approved by the board in June. He noted that the emphasis for new funds under priorities set by the board is to maintain salary competitiveness for faculty and staff and enhance the university’s quality and reputation and rate of progress.

Nearly 70 percent of funding is for the main campus. The remainder is divided among the smaller divisions of Auburn University Montgomery, the Alabama Agricultural Extension System and the Alabama Experiment Station.
