The All-Star Lecture Series continues Friday, Oct. 3, as Senior Vice President of Raycom Media Susana Schuler presents "Staying Relevant When the Audience Already Knows Everything" at 3 p.m. in the Goodwin Room at the Auburn Alumni Center.  Schuler graduated cum laude from Texas Christian University with a bachelor's degree in broadcast/journalism and a minor in business. She started out as an associate producer in Fort Worth for KXAS while in college. After graduation, Schuler held multiple jobs including reporter, anchor, producer, assignment manager and eventually news director in Wichita Falls, Texas. She then moved on to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, as an assistant news director, health reporter and anchor. In Terre Haute, Indiana, she served as a news director and corporate vice president of news for Nexstar Broadcasting and eventually moved to Irving, Texas, to Nexstar headquarters where she helped them grow from three TV stations in 1997 to almost 50 in 2006. That year, Schuler came to Raycom as vice president of news. In January, she was promoted to senior vice president and now oversees news, marketing and programming for Raycom Media. She was named one of the Top 10 Women to Watch by Broadcasting & Cable Magazine in 2002 and was honored with the First Amendment Leadership Award in 2011 by the Radio Television Digital Foundation. The talks in the All-Star Lecture Series take place each Friday before home football games for fans wanting to learn more about Auburn history, sports, programs and research.
