The Alabama Ethics Commission will present an informational session on the Alabama Statement of Economic Interests, or SEI, on Friday, March 18, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Human Resources building, located at 1550 E. Glenn Ave. Employees can attend in-person or via Zoom and must RSVP here to reserve a seat or to receive the Zoom link. The Alabama Ethics Law requires that public employees at an annual salary level of $81,000 or more or having any supervisory role, regardless of salary level, in the prior year, file an annual Statement of Economic Interests, or SEI, with the Commission by April 30.University employees to which this requirement applies will receive an email from the AU Division of Institutional Compliance & Privacy notifying them that they must complete the form, along with a link to the online form and instructions which are available here. Please note, the SEI form is separate from Auburn University’s annual conflict of interest/commitment disclosure which is required for all full-time employees and occurs in the fall. The information requested in the SEI form is different and is mandated by state law.The Commission may impose fines of $100 per day up to $1,000 for delinquent responses or for failure to file, or may charge the non-respondent with a class A misdemeanor. For questions or concerns regarding the March 18 information session or regarding your requirement to complete the form, please contact the Auburn University Division of Institutional Compliance & Privacy at (334) 844-4389 or Robert Gottesman at gotterw@auburn.edu. If you have specific questions about the SEI form, please contact the Alabama Ethics Commission at sei@ethics.alabama.gov or (334) 353-5800.
