Volunteers needed for tree planting event

The Office of Sustainability and Kreher Preserve and Nature Center invites volunteers to participate in Plant Ahead: A Tree Planting Event. Participants will be planting short-leaf pine, learning about forestry practices, Alabama’s native flora and how to properly plant trees, while enjoying the outdoor scenery of the preserve. Registration is requested, but not required, prior to the event on the Office of Sustainability GivePulse, which includes details on what to wear and bring.

The tree planting will be held Tuesday, Jan. 25, from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at the Kreher Preserve and Nature Center. Volunteers will meet in the parking lot of the preserve a few minutes prior to the start of the event.
