The Harbert College of Business has named Emma Holman Johnson as director of Alumni and Community Relations. This newly created position is responsible for enhancing and expanding existing relationships with alumni and external constituencies through local, national and international networks. Focused outreach initiatives will be designed to elevate state, national and global recognition of the college’s 55,000 alumni.

“The Harbert College of Business has a long history of teaching excellence, research, thought leadership and scholarly reputation," said Harbert Dean, Annette L. Ranft. “Now is the time to grow our external engagements and firmly establish our national and global brand reputation as an elite college of business.”

Johnson, a 2007 graduate of Auburn University’s College of Human Sciences, brings diverse career experiences to this new role including the American Cancer Society, where she was responsible for planning and executing large-scale fundraising events, the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia where she served as director of Annual Giving and most recently, the Harbert College of Business where she was a development officer.

“Alumni and community relations starts with our students," said Johnson. "If we keep student success at the forefront of whatever we do, the entire Harbert College family will be successful.

"I am honored by the opportunity to help strengthen and connect the Harbert College community.”

A 2018 Leadership Georgia nominee, Johnson currently supports the Opelika Chamber of Commerce as a 20 Under 40 graduate and board member. She is also a member of the Cary Center’s Women’s Philanthropy Board.
