Engineering professor receives award for outstanding mentoring

Saad Biaz, professor of computer science and software engineering, was awarded the 2021 Undergraduate Research Faculty Mentoring Award by the Computing Research Association, or CRA.

CRA, formed in 1972, is an association of more than 200 North American organizations active in computing research and education. Its mission is to enhance innovation by joining with industry, government and academia to strengthen research and advanced education in computing.

The CRA Undergraduate Research Facility Mentoring Award is given to outstanding individuals and recognizes “exceptional mentorship, undergraduate research experiences and guidance on admission and matriculation of their students to research-focused graduate programs in computing.”
