Diversity in Honors, or DIH, will host a virtual panel discussion with Black faculty members on March 15 at 6 p.m. Many Auburn students have participated in listening sessions and panels regarding previous and current campus issues related to race. Students are fairly acquainted with the student side of university relations but are less informed about the experience of Black faculty members navigating the space of academia, particularly in the wake of the heightened police brutality incidents of the last decade and issues of academic freedom in a majority white profession. To address the latter point, DIH has decided to hold a virtual panel event featuring Black faculty at Auburn to highlight the experience of Black faculty members at a PWI.

Panelists are:

Jared Russell–assistant director, School of Kinesiology

Kimberly Mulligan-Guy-assistant dean, COSAM

Bridgett King–associate professor, Department of Political Science
