Hamilton launches new podcast series

Megan-Brette Hamilton, an assistant professor in the Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences, recently launched a podcast series, the Honeybee Connection. In the series, Hamilton talks with guests who share their stories and experiences centered around language and culture, revealing how communication plays a role in our identities. In each episode she offers tips and insight into how we can better communicate with each other.

Hamilton is an ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist and prior to Auburn, spent 10 years in New York City schools, the largest school district in the US, working primarily with African American and Hispanic/Latinx students. A nationally and internationally recognized researcher, Hamilton’s work focuses on the role that culture and language play in both oral and written communication. She provides training on cultural-linguistic competence to a variety of audiences including speech-language pathologists, teachers and librarians.
