The Alabama Ethics Commission requires that public employees at an annual salary level of $81,000 or more, or having any supervisory role regardless of salary level, file an annual Statement of Economic Interests, or SEI, with the commission each spring.

University employees to which this requirement applies will receive an email from the Auburn Division of Institutional Compliance and Privacy notifying them that they must complete the form, along with a link to the online form and instructions, which are available by clicking here.

The SEI form is separate from Auburn University’s annual conflict of interest/commitment disclosure which is required for all full-time employees and occurs in the fall. The information requested in the SEI form is different and is mandated by state law.

SEI forms for 2020 are due by April 30, 2021. The commission may impose fines of $100 per day up to $1,000 for delinquent responses or for failure to file, or may charge the non-respondent with a class A misdemeanor.

If you have questions about the SEI form, contact the Alabama Ethics Commission at sei@ethics.alabama.gov or (334) 353-5800. For questions or concerns regarding your requirement to complete the form, contact the AU Division of Institutional Compliance & Privacy at oacp@auburn.edu.
