Transitioning back to campus amid a global pandemic can be stressful for students, and recent studies indicate much of the anxiety they face can result in increased mental health issues. To respond to this pressing concern, all faculty are invited to attend an open discussion at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, to learn how they can better support students’ mental health and wellness.

An important part of fostering A Healthier U, faculty are encouraged to attend the drop-in Zoom session to learn more about the impact the current learning environment stands to have on student mental health and how faculty can best support students during the pandemic. The discussion will be led by professional staff from the Offices of Student Counseling and Psychological Services, Health Promotion and Wellness Services and Auburn University Psychological Services.

Focusing on tools and resources faculty can utilize, the session will also examine the key issues affecting students, how it can impact academic engagement, and strategies for faculty to better support students. The drop-in Zoom session can be accessed through aub.ie/WTW.
