Daily COVID-19 self-screening required beginning Aug. 17

As Auburn’s campus prepares to facilitate A Healthier U this fall, all students who plan to come to campus are required to complete a COVID-19 self-screener every day beginning on Aug. 17. Students residing on campus or coming to campus for events can complete their Healthcheck now in AU ACCESS. Completion of the screener takes less than 10 seconds if you don’t have symptoms. In some cases, it takes less than 60 seconds if you are reporting symptoms.

Once completed, students will receive an A Healthier U Pass that indicates their ability to move around campus. A green pass means a student is safe to come to campus, while red means they should stay home or seek medical attention. Students are required to show their pass in order to attend on-campus events and may be asked to show their pass during in-person classes.

If students indicate they have no symptoms or known exposure, they will be free to continue their daily schedules. Those who indicate they are experiencing symptoms or who have had exposure to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 will be directed to either self-quarantine to monitor their symptoms or contact the COVID-19 Resource Center at covidresourcecenter@auburn.edu or (334) 844-6000. 

Important information about student screening:

• Students who do not complete their daily screens are not permitted to move about campus, including attending class.

• Students who experience symptoms should contact the Auburn University Medical Clinic or their primary care provider for further assessment or to schedule a COVID-19 test. For additional questions or concerns, contact the COVID-19 Resource Center or email ahealthieru@auburn.edu.

• In addition to daily screeners, students must abide by all safety protocols, including wearing face coverings, practicing physical distancing and practicing proper handwashing. 

Students must be free of all symptoms potentially related to COVID-19 to come to campus. As you evaluate your symptoms, only report new symptoms that are not associated with existing health conditions (i.e., seasonal allergies) or recent activity (i.e., soreness, difficulty breathing, etc.).

For additional questions, contact the COVID-19 Resource Center, a centralized, multidisciplinary team created to respond to questions and requests from Auburn faculty, staff and students. Staffed by trained volunteers from across the university, the center works closely with the Auburn University Medical Clinic, Facilities Management, University Housing, Human Resources, Campus Safety and Security, Student Affairs, academic and other campus units.

For easy daily access, students can bookmark the Daily Healthcheck Screener on a computer or mobile device. 

Apple - How to add Healthcheck to your home screen:

1. Launch Safari on your ‌iPhone‌ or ‌iPad‌.

2. Navigate to auburn.edu/healthcheck.

3. Tap the Share icon (the square with an arrow pointing out of it) at the bottom of the screen.

4. Scroll down to the list of actions and tap Add to ‌Home Screen‌. (If you don’t see the action, scroll to the bottom and tap Edit Actions, then tap Add next to the Add to ‌Home Screen‌ action.)

5. Type a name for your site link. This will be the title that appears beneath its icon on your Home screen.

6. Tap Add in the top-right corner of the screen.

Android - How to add Healthcheck to your home screen:

1. Launch the Chrome app.

2. Navigate to auburn.edu/healthcheck.

3. Tap the menu icon (three dots in the upper right-hand corner) and tap Add to the home screen.

4. Type a name for your site link. This will be the title that appears beneath its icon on your home screen.

In addition to Healthcheck, students are also encouraged to enroll in the GuideSafe Exposure Notification App, which is voluntary and is designed to protect privacy while anonymously alerting each user of potential exposure to those who have tested positive to COVID-19 within the past 14 days. More information on the Exposure Notification will be released in the coming days.

Completing the mandatory online Daily Health Screening Questionnaire is not only an Auburn University requirement but the right thing to do for the health and safety of our campus.
