Dremere Woods, a sophomore in aerospace engineering, has been named this year’s Be the Creed honoree. He was chosen from a group of students nominated for exemplifying elements of the Auburn Creed in their actions, words and deeds. Woods, from Tuscaloosa, was nominated by a fellow student for how he embodies the creed through hard work and helpfulness.

A first-generation college student, Woods achieved early professional success through a Co-Op rotation with GE Aviation. According to his nomination, Woods “clearly demonstrates hard work and helpfulness in the community through regularly volunteering locally and in his hometown and dedicating himself to his academic pursuits while balancing his commitments as a student athlete.”

Student Conduct developed the Be the Creed campaign in 2015 to promote positive decision-making, honesty and respect among Auburn students. Students, staff and faculty can nominate students whose actions exemplify the creed, written by George Petrie in 1943.
