For the second year in a row, the Korea Center-King Sejong Institute in the Auburn University Office of International Programs is offering summer intensive Korean language courses. This year however, both courses will be taught online to comply with Auburn’s online instruction policy for summer 2020 due to COVID-19. Level 1 is free and will be taught by King Sejong Institute instructor Sunmi Jang Monday-Friday from 2-2:30 p.m. starting May 5 to July 17. Level 5, taught by King Sejong Institute instructor Miyoung Park, is $100 and will convene every Monday-Thursday from 3:30-4:30 p.m. starting May 5 to June 24. Level 1 will use the KSI online instructional platform and Level 5 will use Zoom. The courses are open to all Auburn students, faculty and staff as well as the general public.

“The Korea Center-King Sejong Institute is thrilled to once again offer Korean language courses during the summer, and this time online to accommodate participants during this unprecedented time,” said Ellie Lee, Korea Center-King Sejong Institute deputy director. “The courses are designed to engage participants in an active language learning experience in a low-risk and relaxed environment.”

Registration for both courses is now open and will close May 3. For questions and to register, email auksi@auburn.edu. Registrants will be required to attend an online orientation on May 5. Detailed instructions regarding orientation and the courses will be emailed to registrants in advance.
