Office of Information Technology offers tips about online scammers during COVID-19

Whenever there is a major change to the daily flow of life, online scammers and bad actors look to exploit both you, as an individual, and organizations such as Auburn. Just as we practice good personal hygiene and social distancing techniques, we must also engage in good cybersecurity hygiene and cybersecurity distancing efforts.

Cybercriminals thrive in times of fear, desperation and significant change, and COVID-19 meets all three. This article highlights some of the current widespread scams relating to the virus, a few resources to track new and ongoing scams, and tips that Auburn University’s Office of Information Technology implores you to follow as you work and study from home.
