Authors invited to meet with University of Alabama Press representatives

Representatives from the University of Alabama Press will hold book sales and consultations with potential authors on March 25 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Pebble Hill.

The University of Alabama Press director Linda Manning and acquisitions editors will deliver a lunch presentation at noon on publishing processes with university presses. Author consultations and discounted book sales will take place before and after lunch by appointment.

Lunch will be provided for attendees. There is no cost to participate. To RSVP for lunch and to schedule an author consultation, go to aub.ie/uapress. Faculty, graduate students and local authors are encouraged to meet with acquisition editors.

The University of Alabama Press celebrates its 75th anniversary this year. The press has won numerous awards for its publications over the years and has developed a solid list of titles in areas such as archaeology, rhetoric, religion, science and nature, and several areas of history. With a staff of 18, the press publishes about 80 books a year and has a backlist of more than 1,800 titles in print.

The Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts and Humanities at Pebble Hill is located at 101 S. Debardeleben St.
