Youngblood receives 'Best of Festival' award

Ed Youngblood, associate professor in the School of Communication and Journalism, received the Broadcast Education Association’s Best of Festival for the Faculty Interactive Multimedia competition for his submission, Domestic Violence Intervention Center Website.

The Broadcast Education Association’s, or BEA, Faculty Interactive Multimedia Award recognizes excellence in content creation and visual storytelling that demonstrates creativity and innovation in interactive, multimedia and emerging technology. Winners will be showcased during an awards ceremony at the BEA Convention in Las Vegas in April.

Only 18 “best of” awards are given out each year and BEA received over 1,700 entries for this year’s competition.

Youngblood is an associate professor of media studies in the School of Communication and Journalism and is co-director of the Laboratory for Usability, Communication, Interaction and Accessibility in the College of Liberal Arts. His research focuses on online media usability and accessibility He has been involved in interactive media design since 1995, has worked as an IT professional and began teaching courses in interactive media in 2001. Youngblood's wife Susan also teaches at Auburn and is an associate professor in the Department of English's Technical and Professional Communication program.
