Recent Auburn graduate awarded Fulbright to teach in Germany

Carson Williford, a fall 2016 Auburn University graduate with a degree in English literature and philosophy and a minor in German, has been awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to teach English in Germany.

A native of Auburn, Alabama, Williford graduated with a near-perfect 3.97 grade-point average as a member of the Honors College and the College of Liberal Arts. During the spring and summer of 2016 he conducted undergraduate research under the direction of Diana Eidson, assistant professor in the Department of English. Williford's research explored sustainable agricultural practices in Alabama and was titled "New Alabama Farmer: Sustainable Agriculture on Alabama's Small Farms." In addition, Williford completed an honors thesis in creative nonfiction and another in philosophy. He currently serves as program assistant for the Alabama Bicentennial Commission in Montgomery. Auburn MBA students earn third place at SEC case competition

Harbert College of Business graduate students earned a third place finish and $3,000 award in the 2017 SEC MBA Case Competition held at the University of Florida’s Warrington College of Business April 6-8.

Top honors in the SEC competition went to the University of Georgia, with the University of Florida finishing second. Rounding out the top four was the University of South Carolina. This is the fifth year for the SEC MBA Case Competition, which provides an opportunity for SEC business schools to showcase their students’ skills at solving simulated, real-world problems that cover the spectrum of business disciplines. Representing Auburn University were Daniel Robinson, of Cullman; Taryn McLaughlin, of Madison, Mississippi; Cassie Chen, of China; and Holger Norregaard, of Middleton, Wisconsin. Warrior Research Center hosting first Tactical Athlete Human Factors Summit

The Warrior Research Center at Auburn University will host its inaugural Tactical Athlete Human Factors Summit July 27-28 in the Foy Hall auditorium on the Auburn campus.

The conference is at the intersection of health, technology and innovation for U.S. Armed Forces and first responders. Members of the military, academia, industry and government are invited to share novel ideas and report key findings with the goal of optimizing tactical athlete performance, health and wellness.
