'Humbled and honored': Steven Leath announced as 19th president of Auburn University

Iowa State University President Steven Leath will become Auburn's 19th president.

The university's board of trustees Monday unanimously selected Leath after a six-month national search. Leath starts July 15 and replaces Jay Gogue, who announced his retirement in September. [Read more]

Professor of theater Dan LaRocque recognized for outstanding teaching

Professor of theater Dan LaRocque never pictured himself in a classroom. However, after abandoning the stage in New York City, he found himself at Auburn University.

“It wasn’t until actually going into the classroom,” LaRocque said. “You see the students and this light comes on and it’s very clear from that moment, this is what I wanted to do.” [Read more]

Executive MBA students to make pitch at $1.5 million startup competition

Two Harbert College Executive MBA, or EMBA, students at Auburn University have been chosen to compete April 6-8 in the Rice Business Plan Competition, the world’s richest and largest graduate-level student startup competition.

The business plan submitted by students Terry Namkung and Fred Parnell was chosen from more than 500 applications to the Rice Business Plan Competition in Houston. Namkung serves as CEO of DC Energy Systems, while Parnell is the quality assurance director. [Read more]
