Senior Awarded Fulbright Scholarship to study in Denmark

Auburn University student Kaylee McCormack has been awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to attend the Technical University of Denmark in Kongens Lyngby, Denmark, this fall.

McCormack, a senior in the Honors College majoring in chemical engineering with the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering, will conduct her research under the direction of Anker Jensen in the Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering at the university. [Read more]

Auburn University and KnowCyber launch cybersecurity program for critical infrastructure leaders

The Auburn University Office of Professional and Continuing Education and KnowCyber LLC have launched the SmartCyber Leadership for Critical Infrastructure interdisciplinary executive education program. The intensive cybersecurity awareness and mitigation program will equip senior and mid-level leaders in energy, transportation, manufacturing, health care and other vulnerable industries to manage cyber risks to their data, information networks and process control systems.

“Cybersecurity is of paramount importance to critical infrastructure,” said Royrickers Cook, associate provost and vice president for University Outreach. “Every day, cyber threats increase in scope and complexity. Leaders in critical infrastructure organizations need to understand cybersecurity essentials and, more importantly, how to integrate cybersecurity risk management with all other business management practices. Four student teams advance to finals of Tiger Cage business pitch competition

Auburn University student entrepreneurs will present mobile apps and online platforms, software analytics and storage solutions during the finals of the Tiger Cage business pitch competition on Friday, March 31.

Four teams–BioErgo Solutions, Honey Do, Senior Solutions and Sole Line–advanced from the semifinals on March 3 to earn a shot at a $10,000 grand prize. The final round of Tiger Cage will highlight the second day of the Auburn University Entrepreneurship Summit on March 31 at 8:45 a.m. in The Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center auditorium. ‘Passion for serving’: Students give back over spring break

While some Auburn University students are relaxing at the beach this week for spring break, 45 others are lending a hand with various service projects as part of the Alternative Student Breaks organization.

Students in Alternative Student Breaks, or ASB, are traveling to Kissimmee, Florida, Hendersonville, North Carolina, Quito, Ecuador, and San Cristobal, Dominican Republic, to volunteer their time and talents over Auburn's spring break March 13-17. [Read more]

College of Architecture, Design and Construction named a champion of diversity by Metropolis Magazine

Auburn University's College of Architecture, Design and Construction has been ranked as one of the top eight schools nationally for its diversity initiative. The distinction comes from Metropolis Magazine, which focuses on architecture, culture and design.

The publication credits the college for not only openly publishing strategic plans to bring a more diverse student body to campus, but for also working to achieve those goals. Currently, people of color and international students make up 23 percent of the college's enrollment, and Metropolis named the college as best in diversity recruitment and education. [Read more]

Temporary lane closure announced for South Donahue Drive

The outside lane of southbound South Donahue Drive will be closed from Wednesday, March 15 through Sunday, March 19 as construction crews will be tying in the new drive to the Health Science Sector. This closure should not have any significant impact on vehicle or pedestrian traffic.
