A recipient of the 2010 Auburn University External Consulting Award, Levent Yilmaz is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Computer Society, Society for Computer Simulation International, and Upsilon Pi Epsilon. He is a member of the board of directors of the Society for Modeling Simulation International. In 2009, he authored or co-authored, with Tuncer Ören, more than half of the chapters and contributed to remaining chapters of the book, Agent-Directed Simulation and Systems Engineering. Yilmaz serves as the editor-in-chief of the Simulation; Transactions of the Society for Modeling and Simulation International and has appointments with several other journals as an editorial board member. He is founding organizer and general chair of the Agent-directed Simulation conference series, as well as general chair and program co-chair of the 2009 and 2007 Summer Computer Simulation Conference, respectively. Since he came to Auburn University in 2003, his research interests include modeling and computer simulation and complex adaptive systems.
